I've been feeling much better this week. I'm getting back to sleeping during normal hours, eating normally, and my energy level is up. I have a full 6 days before my next chemo treatment which, appropriately, will be given on Halloween. (Chemo causes some pretty freaky dreams.) I plan to enjoy this week. The second chemo treatment is supposed to have the strongest effect on the body; but having had the flu and a cold while recovering from a surgical biopsy and a port-o-cath placement surgery probably made the first treatment a little worse than it might normally have been. Bring on #2!
Also, I will now be saving big dollars on haircuts, shampoo, hair product, and razors. Yes, I started losing my hair on Thursday. I had a couple of random, goofy bald patches and instead of accepting the scraggly mop, I embraced the inevitable and shaved my head. Here is a picture of my glorious bald noggin.

I think you look great Greg! I am glad you are able to get back into a normal schedule for a while. Thanks for your posts.
Hi guys! It cousin Lindsey and Family! I have been reading up on your blog and catching up on what's going on with your fammily. You are in our prayers and thoughts always! We love you.
Way to go on the positive Attitude!! I LOVE IT!! You look great with a bold head! VERY CUTE!!
I hope you have a WONDERFUL week!!
I love it! I'm a little jealous that you know what you look like bald. I wish I could shave my head so I would know what I looked like bald, but I'm afraid I would look like Sinead O'Connor.
See for yourself:

Greg, You do look great, and your attitude (at least online) sounds like you're handling things very positively. I'm sure there are ups and downs, but it sounds like you're getting through this so far! Hope the next round isn't as bad as they say. Still praying for you and Les, every every day!

Wow Friel, you've gone for the Olympic swimmer look that's so hot these days! Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Hey Greg--You look like Ed Terris--but with very fashionable frames!
Hope you're feeling well.

Hey Greg--You look like Ed T., but with very fashionable frames!! Was going to send you pictures of some Provo river browns from last week but I'm not techy enough to figure out how. Just imagine that they were huge though. Hope you are feelling well. SP
Hey guys,
Good to hear your positive attitude. I'm sure you've had the days where being positive is a struggle at best. You guys are in our prayers.
If you ever want to escape from reality, I wouldn't recommend alcohol. I heard someone say something in General Conference once that made it sound like a really dumb idea.
I really don't have any other suggestions...
don't run with scissors?
Love you guys.

Hello Greg and Leslie Family!!! It's Darla K. - one of the many Phelps' cousins! I'm glad to see that things are going a bit better for you Greg. I hope they keep getting better from here. Just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers. I love you guys so much!!!
Good freakin heck Greg! That melon of yours is brighter than the sun at noon day. Very glorious indeed.
I'm glad you've been feeling better, I think you look good bald!! I hope your 2nd chemo treatment goes well (I mean WENT well considering the date).
You are so cool! Love the head. You sure help me to be positive about my day. You're so positive about things but it's okay if you don't always have something good to say. I'm in the same frame of mind as Michelle. I would love to shave my head just once but from what I can tell by feeling my head, it could be scary.
